Jomsom Muktinath Trek

The Jomsom Muktinath Trek traces the trail from Pokhara all the way to Kali Gandhaki valley with Muktinath the pilgrimage site as the end point of the trek. Along this trail you will enjoy the natural splendors as well as the unique culture of the Jomsom region. Jomsom has an attractive backdrop of the towering peaks of Dhaulagiri and Nilgiri. we trek via Kagbeni to Muktinath, a high altitude pilgrim site and a sacred place for Hindus as well as Buddhists.It is at an altitude of 3710m and is situated at the base of Thorung La. The most prominent shrine is a Vishnutemple where there are 108 shower spouts coming from the glacier on the back wall of the shrine. It provides the double pleasures for the trekkers to view of two great Himalayan ranges, the Annapurna and the Dhaulagiri range.

11 days Jomsom Muktinath trekking itinerary

Day 01:- Kathmandu to Pokhara (820m.) by tourist bus 7-8 / private drive 5 hours drive & air 25 minute and overnight hotel.

Day 02:- Car / van one hours drive / by local bus two hours drive to Nayapul and same day trek to Tikhedhunga (1540m.) it takes 4 hours walk and overnight hotel.

Day 03:- Trek to Ghorepani (2850m.) 6 hours walk and overnight hotel.


Day 04:- Earli morning climb up to Poon Hill (3210m.) for sunrise, 180 degree annapurna view, back to hotel take breakfast, continue to Tatopani (2590m.) 8 hrs walk overnight hotel.

Day 05:- Trek to Ghasa (2010m.) 6-7 hours walk overnight hotel.

Day 06:- Trek to Tukuche (2590m.) 7 hours walk overnight hotel.

Day 07:- Trek to Kagbeni (2800m.) 6 hours walk overnight hotel.

Day 08:- Trek to Muktinath (3800m.) 5 hours walk overnight hotel.


Day 09:- Trek to Jomsom (2710m.) 6 hours walk overnight hotel.

Day 10:- Fly back to Pokhara in the morning 15-18 minute overnight hotel.

Day 11:- Pokhara to Kathmandu by tourist bus 7-8 / private drive 5 hours drive and air 25 minute and overnight hotel.
